password phishing with incoming links

  • I noticed in my stats that I had an incoming link so I clicked on it and was directed to a blog where my post was referenced but they had someone else’s name as the poster. I thought it was just a mistake so I tried to leave a comment that the name was wrong but it wanted me to log in to wordpress to leave the comment but I was already logged in. This is the login page
    http://iphone. castlemainefringe .com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http://iphone. castlemainefringe .com/2008/03/09/iphone-app-idea/
when I tried to login here it said my username was incorrect. I immediately changed my password in case it was compromised. Is this a password phisher ?

[Link to splog broken – Mark]

  • Wow mark! You are a genius! Lots of applause from here!

  • great work Mark; so what happened when I reported nearly the same thing. I researched it back to a Houston company site, but hosted on WordPress! And they are back today after I listed them as spam yesterday. Same links as before. Whassup! I know I’m a newbie to blogs; but why should I have to do my own detective work on this! Oh well, I guess i’ll just continue deleting them. But it is hard to know what is legit and what is fraud; when you are new to this social system. Just sayin’

  • Thank you Mark.
i am so glad to see others are fighting against Splog thefts, also
I think its time to move my blogger blog to wordpress.com. Just on principle.
Nothing more to be said, than i see which blog companies have better integrity.
