PDF file management
I have a page that links to a long list of PDF files (newsletters). I have the option to continue to ftp those files to a web server Available to me and link to them there or I can upload them via the media library to attach them to the page here on wordpress.com. Does having many PDF files attached to a page affect the upload time of a page? What factors should I consider in deciding whether to use the media library or to leave the files on the server? I am aware of the limit on free space. My blogs on wordpress.com are currently private so I cannot share the link.
The blog I need help with is houstonweaver.wordpress.com.
I should have said the load time of a page, not upload.
If you just have a link to a PDF file your page load time will not be hurt – if you use Scribd the whole PDF document will load and that will slow things down.
I do both.
When I use Scribd I make sure the Scribd code is after the More Tag so the Scribd document only loads when a visitor looks at the whole Post.
In this case I don’t need scribd. This page is mainly an archive list. I just wasn’t sure if the media library attachments did any kind of background load of the attachments or If they just acted as any other web page link.

Nothing in the background other than the plain link the same as any other link
Sounds as though given enough space, it is just a matter of personal preference.
