I am fairly new to WordPress and am managing a site for a volunteer organization. I do not know html so I am using the visual option when creating posts.
I loaded a powerpoint presentation as a .pdf file using the media option. The post looks fine on the site, but when you click on the link for the presentation (the .pdf file), it opens the post again without the photo, and you have to click on the presentation link (the .pdf file) again for it to open. Is there a way to just get it to open by clicking on it once?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The blog I need help with is intermountainiftpresentations.wordpress.com.
The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. If you are seeking to simply upload a document to your blog’s Media Library (no download link), you can check out Media -> Add New in your dashboard. http://support.wordpress.com/media/media-add-new/
If you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.
Thanks for the advice, timethief. I will give the third party applications a try.
Slideshare is another option for PPT
