I like the MEDIUM size pictures but I am unable to get them side by side on the site.

    http://www.ukthrumyeyes.wordpress.com

    I have two questions:

    1. How can I put two pictures side by side without the words getting wrapped? Is there something that I can put below the pictures that indicates a new paragraph? I would like to have a paragraph, two pictures side by side and then a paragraph.

    2. Using medium pictures I don’t have enough room to put the pictures side by side on this theme. Every time I try to widen it or make the widget smaller it skews everything but still doesn’t all the photos side by side.

Any help you can give is appreciated.

The blog I need help with is ukthrumyeyes.wordpress.com.

    1. See here:
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-do-side-by-side-images-without-text-next-to-them?replies=3

    2. Go to Settings > Media and change the default width for the medium option. Experiment in a test post till you find the right width.
Note that this default will apply to posts you create after you make the change, it won’t change the size of images inserted in already published posts.

One of the challenges I have is I don’t want to make the pictures smaller than medium. If I did I could use thumbnail. I hoped I could widen the blog to allow the pictures to fit side by side. Is there no way to to this?

Actually there’s no such thing as “smaller than medium”, because medium isn’t a fixed size: you change its default dimensions according to your needs and the theme you’re using.
But I’m seeing you have the Custom Design upgrade. In that case yes, you can widen the theme via CSS editing. Please post this question in the CSS forum.
