how do I add my pinterest and instagram boards onto my blog?? PLEASE help :)

The blog I need help with is

You cannot add your “boards” to your blog.

You can use any widget that has pure HTML but you cannot use any widgets that contain restricted codes like iframes or JavaScript widgets. In the case of Pinterest, you cannot use the Pin-it Javascript code on a blog.

But you can put the code for the Pinterest follow button in a text widget.
    1. Go to this site, choose which one of the red Follow Me images you want, and copy the code for it.

    2. Then, go to your widgets > Appearance > Widgets and select a text widget.

    3. Paste the Pinterest follow button code into the text widget, “save” the widget, “close” the widget and place it where you want it to display in your sidebar.

    4. Please see here for enabling sharing buttons including Pinterest on your blog.

Thank you. I have managed to add the “follow me on Pinterest” button to my blog but I would still like to know how to link my blog to my pinterest and instagram pages – so that my pics/activity automatially update and show on my blog??? Please help :)

It seems like its not possible to link to instagram feed?! Instagram offers a ‘button’ code that should work but when I paste it, the actual coding comes up with the button…. HELP!

sheshooked…same thing is happening with my instagram badge, the coding is coming up! The badge still appears and is linked to instagram but the coding is there…we need help!

I got my instagram badge to work by deleting all the style code before <a href….. to make it look like the pinterest badge.
I am not educated in code, but it seemed to have helped.

I followed the directions to add the follow me button in the text widget and instead of a button it just comes up as a link. Is there a way to actually have it appear as a button?

This is happening to me too. When I save the widget code in the text widget, all you get is a text link, no button. If you try to use any other of the styles such as a small pin stream, it will revert to the text link right in the widget box. I have tried several options, multiple times, even pasting the code from pininterest into notepad then copying from that to wordpress.

So something is blocking our use of these types of code.

Yes. Your built-in security measures are blocking that code. You can’t use javascript, iframes, or raw flash here.

What you can do is use a button. It’s easy. You find or make a button image you like (and there are thousands) and you create a text widget and make the image of the button link to your Pinterest or Instagram account.

I create text widgets as if they were blog posts, in the Visual editor. Then once it’s the way I want it, I click to the Text editor, copy the code, and paste it in the widget.

Note that in no way can you have your instagram account feed directly into your blog as posts automatically. Autoposted material is disabled here. You CAN put your Instagram feed into your Flickr widget in the sidebar, though.

Thanks I’ll give it a whirl and report.
