Whenever I checked my upgrade, it says there
“Please contact support to renew this product”
BUT THERE’S NO WAY TO CONTACT WORDPRESS!!
It’s really frustrating now. I’ve paid for it and it’s not working.

Have you registered ribbontailgames.com? The domain name does not seem to be registered – try registering it again from the start (not renew)

I have also flagged this for staff attention

    I have registered it, yes.
    Does that expire?
I also tried registering it again, it says the domain is already registered.
    That’s why I’m confused.

Yes domain names expire – I used another database and it looks like you domain name is in Redemption – you will need staff help to renew it – this is flagged for staff help and it also looks like you have several thread with the same question – that just confuses things

Oh, sorry for those previous threads. I wasn’t getting any response, that’s why I post another thread. I will delete them now.
Hope I can fix my site.
    Thank you.

The domain ribbontailgames.com expired on 2012-10-22 and is currently in redemption. This means that the domain is deactivated, but has not yet been fully released. During this time, you can still renew this domain, but the process is more complicated than a regular renewal. You have renewed a Domain Mapping upgrade, but as you are not in the control of the domain, I canceled and refunded your $13 purchase.

If you’d like to renew your ownership of this domain, you have several options:

    1) We can renew the domain for you through our registrar. This costs $106, which includes $26 for the domain and an additional cost of $80 for a late renewal. We have no control over this additional cost, as it is levied on us by our domain registrar.

    2) Try to register the domain through a domain back-ordering service, such as Pool (Registering starts at $60 with Pool) http://pool.com/

    3) Wait until the domain is out of redemption and becomes available for registration again. Then, you can register it again for the regular price of $26. This would run the risk of the domain being registered by someone else before you, or the domain not being released for registration at all. The exact redemption period and the release of the domain are at the discretion of our domain registrar and we can’t control it.

If you want to have the best chance of getting your domain back, your best bet would be the first option. If you choose this option, please reply to this email letting us know. We will then send you a direct request for payment and will contact our registrar on your behalf, asking to restore the domain.

Please note that time is of the essence here. Because your domain is very close to being cancelled, it may no longer be possible to recover it. If you pay for renewal and we are unable to recover the domain, you will be fully refunded.

    Thank you.
I’ve checked my credit card, and the $13 refund isn’t posted yet.
How long is the refund process?
And, I would like to use my website name.
Will I be informed when the redemption period is done?
I would like to re-register it for $26.
    Thank you.

How long is the refund process?

Your refund will post within 1-2 weeks.

Will I be informed when the redemption period is done?

No, I’m afraid there will be no notification. I would also like to reiterate that waiting for the domain to be released would run the risk of the domain being registered by someone else before you, or the domain not being released for registration at all. The exact redemption period and the release of the domain are at the discretion of our domain registrar and we can’t control it.

One of the locations where you can check whether the domain is available for registration again: http://whois.domaintools.com/ribbontailgames.com

Once the domain has been released, you’ll see that its status will appear as “not registered”.

PS – I got my domain name when the original owner let the domain name registration lapse and I got it when it came out of redemption – there is also an industry that buys expired domain names and holds them for hostage

    This is what it says…

    Domain: ribbontailgames.com

Your nameservers need to be set to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM for these DNS records to work. If you have already updated the nameservers you can ignore this message; it will stop appearing soon.

You need to configure it. If you bought it from WordPress.com, you should be able to go to your Domains page and set it as Primary there. Then you must wait till the DNS has propagated, which can take up to 72 hours.

@ribbontail: sorry, looks like the domain registration did not go through. Could you please try to register the domain again under Store > Domains? You won’t be charged again since a free domain credit is included in your Pro Bundle.
