Plug ins

  1. Hi. I downloaded custom-headers-and-footers plug-in 1.2 from the WP Plugin directory. Am trying to locate the /wp-content/plugins/ directory. Where is this?
    I have found some info regarding FTP credentials and the like, but am unsure what that all means. It also mentions 'Activating the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress' which I am unable to locate. If anyone could assist, that would be great! Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is

  2. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes or anything else into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

  3. Thankyou. I really only need add to add a static copyright line (2 sentences) at the bottom of my blog. Is this actually classified as a footer, and if so, am I unable to create that without the plug-in? I have purchased the custom upgrade.

  4. thesacredpath will help you with CSS issues. You will need to place the copyright in a text widget and then he'll explain the how-to to you. I'll flag this so the thread is moved into the CSS Forum.

  5. Thank you.

  6. You're welcome.

  7. You can add static text to the footer in the Twenty Eleven theme using this CSS:

    #site-generator:after {
        content: " Place text here.";
  8. Thank you. Sorry to be a lummox, but where do I put that copy? Does that go in the box marked 'Footer area one' in the widgets section?

  9. You would paste that into the CSS edit window at appearance > custom design > CSS and then edit the "place text here" text as desired.

  10. Thank you. I'll have a crack at that.

  11. You are welcome.

  12. No. If you have the paid CSS upgrade, it goes in your CSS code in the appropriate place.

  13. Is the appropriate place under all the text? I don't want the footer to go under each post per se, but to be static at the bottom of the page. Thank you.

  14. All the text in the CSS edit window is just informational. Delete all of it and then add the CSS @designsimply posted for you.

  15. how to used it ?
