I’m new with WordPress and trying to link our facebook page to our wordpress site… I’m finding tutorials online on how to do so but everything says I need to do stuff with plugins… I dont seem to have plugins though. Could someone direct me in this. I’d prefer to have the facebook on a page and not on a sidebar but at this point I’d be happy with either.

Oh and I have no idea what version I’m using either! Its the free version I know that much lol

The blog I need help with is

Plugins references are always are for WordPress.ORG installs. The tutorials and videos online don’t refer to WordPress.COM blogs they refer to WordPress.ORG installs. Also note that the version of WordPress we run on at is irrelevant as Staff do all upgrades but to settle your mind we are ahead of WordPress.ORG bloggers here at WordPress.COM.

There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted blogs.

See here for a full comparison vs.

There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes.

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff.

The relevant support documentation for all WordPress.COM blogs is all found at the Support link which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

thank you so much for the info. Our WordPress site has been up for a few months but I’m just getting involved in it. Yesterday I changed the theme/layout and the facebook timeline feed that was once on the right side bar is now gone. So it was once there so I’m thinking there is a way I just need to figure it out. I tried switching around layouts thinking maybe it would appear on some (because I get the feeling some layouts support sidebar things and some don’t?). Any suggestions?

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

I checked and Facebook isnt there but there was two other things. I have no idea where it would have went or how to get it back.

I’m interested in putting our facebook page timelime back on our wordpress either on a page or on the sidebar (preferably to be able to put it on a page)…could you help assist me? thanks!!

I’m sorry for writing again! So I added the facebook page badge to my sidebar but it doesnt look the way it did before I changed the theme. The badge now looks smaller and not showing as much from our Facebook as it did before. Any suggestions on making it look better?
