Possible to have menu background adjust to text length?

I’ve added some new pages in my submenu that have long titles, so the text is getting cut off (see “Qualified Projects” tab). I’ve already adjusted the width of the submenu and don’t want it to be too wide for all the submenus.. Is it possible to have the width adjust automatically depending on the length of the longest text? I tried a number of settings but nothing worked.. is this even an option, or must all submenus be a fixed (or the same) size?

The blog I need help with is wtdw.wordpress.com.

I don’t see such tab, did you remove it?

No? hmm.. it’s showing up for me. should be 4th tab from the left.
in any case, does my question make sense?

oops i see, i think i’m linked to the wrong page. this is the site in question:
