I am using motion theme and since I like each page (category, month file) to show only three posts at once, I would like to have some kind of display, widget, or counter, at the side of each category or month file, that shows the total number of posts under that category.
Is that possible?
Maybe there is some kind of display post counter?
(Otherwise I might add the calendar widget)
Thanks in advance!
The blog I need help with is calandans.wordpress.com.
You set the number of posts your wish to display on the running page for posts of your blog here > Settings > Reading
Blog pages show at most __posts
In the majority of themes, posts on category or other archive pages show up just as they do on the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/
The Calendar widget higlights only the dates on which you publish.
Go to the screen options tab on the top right hand corner of your Dashboard and click it. There you will find hidden modules your can display. The Right Now module includes a post, page, categories, tags count. Unhide that module and it will appear on your Dashboard.
Not sure I explained myself well.
What I would like to add is a number (automatic counter) at the side of each category that displays the total number of posts under that category.
For example: cooking (24)
24 being the number of posts under that category.
We don’t have such a widget but we do have Categories widgets and they do display a count of the published posts you assign categories to if you set them up to do so.
Adding Categories via Your Dashboard
Adding Categories to Posts with the Categories Module
Display your Categoires > Categories Widget
I’m glad I was able to help you. Your’re welcome and happy blogging!
