Post not appearing on daily prompt

  1. Just wondering if there's anything I should be doing differently to have my posts show up on the daily prompt? I've got pingbacks allowed, and I post with the link directly embedded in the post. ? I've written a few that haven't appeared on the response page. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is lookingforitblog.wordpress.com.

  2. Here's the site link for bookmarking https://dailypost.wordpress.com/
Here's the relevant link for the courses for bookmarking https://dailypost.wordpress.com/blogging-university/

There is a long standing issue with The Daily Posts site, if you do not succeed please provide this specific info:
    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/

Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

  3. Thank you! It's a macbook pro, Safari v. 10.0.3.

  4. Hi there,

It looks like you were using a different link from the one specified on the actual prompt post.

In your Diary post, for example, you used https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2017/03/13/record/, but the instructions on the Daily Post prompt says to use https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/record/

I've fixed those links on your Diary and Snowflake posts, and they're both now appearing on the prompt posts as well.

  5. Interesting to note! Thanks! The link I used came directly from the Daily Prompt page. Could that be happening to others as well?

    Thank you!

  6. It's possible, though if I view the post on the Daily Post it shows the URL I gave above in my browser, and also if I click the Instructions link for the pingback. I don't see the URL you used displayed anywhere on the page.

In fact, I don't see that URL containing the date showing anywhere on the Daily Post site. Can you please tell me exactly where you copied that? I have a feeling that URL should not be visible at all.

  7. Yup, I got to it from my "likes" page. One of the posts on the page is the daily prompt, and a button to "post about [whatever the word is]".

    https://wordpress.com/activities/likes

That's the link that comes up.

    Take care
    Kathy

  8. Thank you for that information. I've reported it to the Daily Post team so they can have a look.

Going forward, I'd recommend you visit the prompt directly on The Daily Post, and copy the link from there.
