Using the default twenty eleven template… How the heck do I get rid of Posted in uncategorized?
I have done it with this theme before, but Can’t remember what I added or changed.
I am so frustrated right now. I tried index.php, categories.php, archives.php, single post, and almost every template file I looked at.
I just want to remove Posted In Uncategorized.
3 words i’ve been frustrated with for 2 hours. Please make this easier to hide.
I don’t want categories, I dont want meta categories on my front page posts.
I JUST WANT IT GONE

Hint — the Uncategorized category is the default category. Create another one in your dashboard and change the default Category to the one you create.

Even No Category plugin doesn’t work.

Your original post indicates that you probably have a .ORG install and need to go there as the links above indicate.
You’re right, i didn’t realize there was a dumb downed version of WordPress via .com. Sorry wrong forums.
WordPress.COM is not dumbed down – our base themes here have much more functions built into them than the ones at WordPress.ORG. Yes there are limits to what you can do here much of that has to do with reliability and security –
Yep about 30% of the people who post here are those SMART folks from WordPress.org :D Of course we Volunteers answering questions who have both free hosted
WordPress.com blogs and self hosted installs are to polite to say so.
