Poster identity

  1. I need to know the most cost effective way to discover the real identity of email address/ IP addresses. Information is needed for lawsuit.

The blog I need help with is

  2. Well, that's exactly the kind of information you can expect to pay for. What's your budget?

  3. Already $20,000 in legal fees - so i quess the sky's the limit!

  4. Well, I can save you some money: there are virtually no personally identified IP addresses anymore. A simple Google search can find you an IP tracer, but it's pretty likely you'll get "AOL" or something similar. They haven't identified people personally in years.

If you're asking about a person commenting on, that's a private blog and presumably all the commenters are known to the blog owner. You could just ask them, if that's not you.

As for email addresses, you'll probably have to subpoena the email host.

  5. so a subpoena of yahoo and hotmail from the court - post were made before I made the blog private - so i do have an IP address but it is generic - blackberry.
