    It seems that any time I want to start a new post, I am confronted with the non-responsive WP icon. I will either click on the left or the right, and do it one, two or three times on NEW POST and nothing will come up. It takes me several tries just to get into my dashboard.

    Also photos seem to take forever to upload.

    Whatever simple and new ways WP makes to post, seem to complicate things worse.

    Please share some information with us so we can try and figure out where your issues are stemming from.

    How are you connecting to the internet and to The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    Are you using the https:// secure log-in and logging directly into your own blog?

    I use a desktop imac with mouse. OSX version 10.8/ Mountain Lion. I am on Safari. Version 6.0 Yes, I use the secure log-in right on my own blog.
    My connection is Ethernet./ DNS is

    The problem of clicking and not getting any response has been going on since for a few months.

    When I use Chrome none of this happens. So I guess the problem is with Safari.

    Are you running any Safari Extensions?

    If so, would you please try with those temporarily disabled?


    I disabled them. I tried the post buttons on the top and sometimes they open and sometimes they do not.

    Your design of having “new post” in four separate places on top of the screen only confuses more.



    Don’t use it; it doesn’t appear to use the Autosave. I always go to the Dashboard->Posts->New Post to create a new post.



    Specifically, which one is giving you trouble?



    I’m with raincoaster on this. I do not ever login on the home page. I log-in directly to my own blog. I go directly to Dashboard -> Posts -> New Post and I never have issues when creating posts.


    Second from the left under my blog name NEW>POST does not respond.

    Andy, Here in Van Nuys, NEW>POST does not work.

    Any of the choices mostly do not respond in Safari.



    Ah that’s because you’re forwarding and masking a domain. This is one of the few incompatibilities that can come from that.

    To avoid that, you’ll need to map the domain:


    Well if it is a problem, it only has developed in the last year, because I’ve been “masking” my blog at WP for at least 4 years.

    I’m not going to spend $13 to “map it”. WP is already trying to weasel out money by the dubious font upgrades that need to be renewed every year for “only” $30.
