Posts not lining up

I am having problems with my posts recently.

    1. When I am making a new post, I usually write first and then insert a photo. Quite often the writing disappears. I have to go in and edit it to fix it.
    2. When I am putting more than one photo in a post, they are not lining up properly.
    3. Also my homepage has gone wonky and the last several posts are overlapping with each other.

I also have created new pages and can’t seem to post more than once to the new pages.

What am I doing wrong? I would appreciate any advice on any of the topics mentioned.

    Thanks so much.
    My blog is http://scrapshe.wordpress.com

Yes it does. That is what is so weird about this.

If you go to Edit a post where they’re not aligning correctly, can you click to the HTML editor and copy that, and paste it here between backticks? That forces it to display so we can read your code. So do backtick, code, backtick. Backticks are on the same key as the ~.

The overlapping happens a fair bit when there are pictures that are side-aligned and not so much text that it goes right to the bottom of the image. This is why I usually centre my images instead of side-align them, but that’s the lazy way out.

No, not ~ but backticks, which are on the same key.

In any case, at first glance that looks like really messy code. Are you composing in Word and pasting it in or something? I don’t know why there’d be all the span tags that enclose only one letter.

Oops, I didn’t know what you meant by backticks. No, I am not composing in Word. I am just writing a post the normal way and adding photos. I really don’t like the new way of adding photos and wonder if that has something to do with it.

Thanks. This might have something to do with why your code is so messy:
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=27795&replies=5#post-199505

On first glance, it looks like you’ve got a lot of instructions in your code, like every time there’s an image you set the size twice. Like this: w=300″ alt=”” width=”300″ height=”298″

What I would do, and this is going to be a total pain, is go in and wipe out the w= parts. Keep all the rest in there. And then go in and strip out ALL the span stuff, and go back and put it in again. That should eliminate the single letters with spans around them and so on.

I’m guessing here. I know this is a lot of work. But that is what I would do if this were my blog. I would strip it right back to basics and then put things in one by one to see what caused the problem or if I could avoid it this time.
