I am having issues with this Sight theme.

–When I write a post it doesn’t appear in the category. For instance, I have the post “Indiegogo Fundraiser” in the “simone” catergory but it doesn’t appear when I click into “simone.”
–The text for the slider bar doesn’t appear on the post with the featured image “Letters to Za’atari.”

This is a very timely issue. Need help asap!

The blog I need help with is

Each of your menu items links to the category “uncategorized.”

    For example:
    <a href="">SIMONE</a>
You want the http part to be this way:

The confusion is how to change/update this…

    (1) There is only one page we can post to in any blog and
    (2) The static pages we bloggers create do not automatically update.

Only the dynamic pages like Archives, Categories and Tags created by the software when we publish a post will update automatically update with new posts.

By default the front page of the blog is the Page that displays all posts in your blog. You can create a static front page but doing that does not change what follows.

Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

We can also add other items into a custom menu like static Pages but as I said above no static Pages will ever automatically update.

    This may be helpful

There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and there are some tweaks you can use to improve your custom menu as well.

    1. Delete your current secondary menu and make a new one.
    2. Open the drop-down module for “categories.”
    3. √ checkmark the categories for SIMONE, LEV, RASHA, MEG, MICHELLE, NANCY, and JESSICA
    4. √ checkmark “add to menu”
    5. For your secondary menu on Sight be sure each category is a parent, not a child page because child pages won’t work on the secondary menu.
    6. Choose your menu location as “secondary menu.”
    7. Save menu.

I am following your instruction. This is what I’m seeing and it’s not adding up.

    I deleted the menu.
Then I go to “posts” and then “categories” and click categories which pulls up a list of everything.
Then I did the check marks next to all the names.
BUT there isn’t anything that allows me to “add to menu.”

I’m assuming going to the Categories through Posts is incorrect but on my tool bar that’s the only way in.

Just went to Appearance and then Categories where I now see “add to menu”

oh my god, my posts are showing. thank the heavens to betsy. thanks for your help. i was losing my mind.

Hooray! The links are now correct and all you need now are posts for your other categories: LEV, RASHA, MEG, MICHELLE, NANCY, and JESSICA. I’m sure you’re on your way now that the menu is functioning!

Forgot about the other issue I was having.

The text on one of the sticky’s isn’t appearing on the scrolling bar. Please advise.

Sorry, but I don’t know. I thought it might be that your post format was “aside” rather than “standard.” But looking at your code, it appears to be standard.

I’d suggest starting another thread with this question and perhaps another volunteer will see it and have an answer.

1.) When I create a post it doesn’t appear on the home page. It does appear in the designated category. How do I get it to also appear on the homepage?

2.) Can I reorder the sticky posts that scroll on the homepage?

3.) Text formatting is super wonky. Please advise. (No paragraph breaks or too many spaces for the paragraph breaks. There’s no rhyme or reason to it – it happens at random places/times.)
