Pre-loading of thumb nail images
If want to have a series of photos in thumb nails – I normally upload the large photo , then i will insert into post at a thumbnail size of my choice – this then automatically is linked to the large original size. My question is: when i choice the size of the thumb nail does word press create a new image in the system or does it actually load the original size (just re-sizes it on screen) ?
What im trying to get at is, that will it take so long to load my page if i have a lot of images even though they are inserted at a smaller size ? or will it take long even though i have inserted a thumbnail size because its actually going to load the full size image?
did that make sense?
The blog I need help with is aswjmedia.com.au.

I don’t know the answer to your question and I hope that another Volunteer can answer it. However, I visited your blog and see that your images are linked to download files so perhaps that’s a factor.

There are many factors that negatively affect page loading times. As page loading time is now a Google ranking factor I expect to see some bloggers scrambling to declutter their sidebars ASAP. See > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/13/blogging-strategies-for-reducing-page-loading-time/
