Premium theme options missing in Beep Beep Boop
I have many, many issues with your ridiculous Beep Beep Boop post editor, but most of them have already been addressed elsewhere in this forum, so let’s talk about the ones I pay for that you’ve taken away.
I have the upgrade and I use a premium theme. This premium theme of mine has theme-specific options in the old, “classic” post editor. When I still had a functional post editor, I had this box where I could add posts to each theme-specific feature at will:
That box is integral to my theme. It does not exist in the new nightmaresauce Beep Beep Boop editor.
The fact that it was missing in your stupid new post editor wasn’t that big of a deal when I still had the option to switch to the classic editor, which I did every time, but now that you’ve removed the option to switch to classic, I can no long access features I paid for outside of the dashboard. You’ve made “Edit” absolutely useless to me.
And, before you go telling me that I can still access those features through the dashboard, I KNOW THAT. However, which of these two procedures would you rather go through:
Beep Beep Boop editor:
1. Click My Sites.
2. Click WP Admin.
3. Click Posts.
4. Scroll or search through over 1100 posts to find the right one.
5. Click Edit.
1. Click Edit.
So, I was wondering if you were ever planning to address the removal of premium features that I can’t access without a whole lot more unnecessary clicking.
The blog I need help with is fishofgold.net.

The classic editor is being retained. You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5

I know I can still access these things by clicking a whole lot more, but I shouldn’t have to. I am annoyed by many things about the new editor, but mostly it’s the fact that they hid premium features I PAID FOR.
And why are they getting rid of features like post revisions and copy a post? I use both of those a lot. I’ve yet to hear a compelling reason why.
Sorry but I am not able to address that. Staff will when they get to this thread.
Thanks for the feedback. The theme you’re using (Outspoken) definitely has some specific features that aren’t included in the new editor. We’ve decided not to add these. You will need to use the classic editor for this specific features. In the future, we’ll be controlling these features a bit more to prevent this from happening. I apologize for the inconvenience!
But, why? Why on earth would you ever purposely decide not to include features that customers pay for in your design? The reason we buy premium themes–and by extension, your upgrade–is because of those premium features. You do realize this is a massive inconvenience for your paying customers, right?
By “controlling these features” do you mean that you’re going to prevent developers from even offering them? It seems your solution to complaints lately is just to take things away from us willy-nilly and hope we don’t mind too much.
You do realize this is a massive inconvenience for your paying customers, right?
I definitely understand, and again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Currently, this limitation only applies to a handful of themes (Outspoken is one of them). Since this affects only a minority of themes, we won’t be adding it to the new editor.
By “controlling these features” do you mean that you’re going to prevent developers from even offering them?
We won’t be preventing these types of features necessarily. We’ll just be taking a closer look at how these features are controlled within the editor so this issue doesn’t happen with future themes.
So, because we’re the minority, essentially, screw us. That’s fine if you want to screw us by not adding features we paid for to the new abysmal editor that I will never use, but put the link to switch to the classic editor back, please. Having to go through the dashboard and search for a post just to add it to one of my theme-specific features is laborious and absolutely infuriating. Especially since I’m paying you for the service.
