I wish to upload regular images to a newer blog page which are up for sale elsewhere. The preservation of an image’s IPTC metadata (its copyright status and source) is therefore important to me because I want to minimise its likelihood of becoming orphaned.
I notice that once uploaded, WordPress (just as Google currently do) are stripping out all the metadata tagged to the file and my picture is therefore without ownership or copyright status. This is something the picture industry is trying to rectify so that photography on the net is still married to its author and/or owner.
So I was wondering if WordPress have a way of avoiding losing IPTC metadata or even of stopping this issue?
