"Press This" Button Broken in Dashboard on IE
The “Press This” button does not respond to drag or right-click in the ‘Dashboard->Tools->Available Tools’ screen when using IE 8.0.6001 on Vista. Amazingly, WP Developers did not anticipate such rare event as browser issues (!) so there seems no other way to get at the button’s command. It would have been nice to have a “copy command” feature so I could add it manually to the IE toolbar. The button works as advertised in Firefox, however.
Is this me being stupid? Is this WP engineers not being quite up to task? Is this WP taking sides on the browser?
Who cares?!!! If someone has a solution I would absolutely appreciate a note back. I browse using IE (and don’t want to change) and this is just a pain.
Thanks in advance,
The blog I need help with is pixelhose.com.
Heave you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
If so and that did not work then have you reported this to Staff? http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
I am having the same problem and it is really affecting my ability to grab content. A solution would be great. I, too, use IE8 and do not want to change.
I’m sorry we Volunteers cannot help you with this IE8 issue. I do suggest that you report this to Staff and while waiting for their assistance that you upgrade your browser to IE9 or use Firefox 5.0 rather than doing nothing at all. That way you will be able to blog while waiting for help.
