Hi, this might sound stupid but this is my first blog so please be patient!
I wanted to set my blog privacy so search engines could access it, the support page says I can do this in settings–>reading, but i swear ive looked under every menu and link and settings page and i cannot find this anywhere!! help please? thankyouuuuu :)
The blog I need help with is missycartoons.wordpress.com.
Under Settings->reading there is an option:
Site Visibility Site Visibility:
- Allow search engines to index this site
- Discourage search engines from indexing this site
- I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose
Select the top option.
thankyou haha but what I am asking is WHERE is the settings tab? the setting link in the top left of this page simply takes me to account settings and there is no ‘reading’ link.. so how do I find the ‘setting’s’ part to click to get to all that?
Ah, sorry I didn’t understand where you got lost before. If you click the “settings” from the top right one of the options in the menu at the top is “my blogs”. Click that, then “blog admin” from under your blog. There will be a “settings” entry in the left pane which expands out to a number of options, one of which is “reading”.
oh thankyou so so sooooo much you are a life saver!!! I never would have found that settings page i kept ending up at all sorts of other settings! hahahaha thanks so much again YAY! :D
