private parent page?
i was wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to generate a ‘parent’ page with ‘children’ pages that are all private. i am looking to start a journal for myself on my blog, (parent page would be the title of the journal, children pages would be the journal entries) but don’t want any of these items to be accessible to the public.
does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how to achieve the goal? thanks!
The blog I need help with is shinyfork.wordpress.com.
Page nesting (parent-child) and page visibility are 2 different beasts, and you need both it sounds like. The nesting will get you the hierarchy you want, and each page has a visibility preference you set (private, not password protected).
A word of advice: download software to your pc for a private journal. I like WordPress, but anytime you post something private online, you are trusting that they don’t accidentally make it public. If you really want it private, don’t post it online. If youre married to WordPress for your software choice, try a Bitnami WordPress Stack. It takes a little more effort because you have to learn to add themes, but there’s lots of help available at WordPress.org on how to do that.
Thanks! I’m pretty new at this, and therefore probably not as educated about all of these topics.
Sounds like it’s safest just to have a journal that’s not connected to my blog in any way.
