Problem with RSS feed

  1. wordwatchtowers

My RSS feed for posts has stopped working, although the feed for comments still works. When I click on the posts feed, I get this error message:

The following tags were not closed: rss, channel, item.
    Line: 0 Character: 0

I can access RSS feeds on other blogs.

I've tried reinstalling the RSS widget, but the same problem occurs.

Many thanks in advance for any hints or tips re. this. (I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find anything relevant.)

The blog I need help with is

  2. I think I have the same problem, but no error message.

  3. I did a feed validation and got the following errors:

    This feed does not validate.

line 115, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:115:1: no element found [help]

In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.

line 28, column 147: Unregistered link relationship: search [help]

    ... sd.xml" title="Ann-Mari's Blogg" />

It seems that the following is the wort problem ?
    # <atom:link rel="search" type="application/opensearchdescription+xml" href="" title="Ann-Mari's Blogg" />

Hi there - yes, you do have the same problem. Your comments RSS works but your posts one does not -- same as on my blog.

  5. I wonder if anyone knows what to do to get our blogs up and feeding again?

  6. My feed also seems to have stopped working. I noticed that my posts weren't showing up on a common aggregator's site, and when I look at it in my browser, it shows no posts, although I just made one a few hours ago.

  7. wordwatchtowers

Yes, ditto -- I can't access your RSS feed.

  8. Same problem here - I can't receive any feeds from various blogs. My feedreader will show empty posts.

Thanks so much, timethief. I'll do as you advise.

  13. The RSS-feeds on my blog stopped working. What can I do for repair it or can't I?

And where is the RSSFeed inside my blog? I only can see the buttons Messages&ReactionsRSS inside the META widget. That's all. :-(

  15. @timethief, yes I did read te thread, but still I don't understand not much from the RSS, because I almost never using the RSS.

But thanks for the link. I'll contact the staff.

  16. You're welcome. :)

  17. @ timethief,

  18. +1

Feed XML is truncated within the first <item> node. Definitely a problem.

  19. I keep my fingers crossed that the wordpress crew knows how to fix my broken blog.
(I didn't even know I or something had broken it...)

  20. @maukonen
I hope you sent in your report to Staff and of course they will fix this. :)

P.S. To answer your question look above at every report URL I posted. they all begin with and following the slash is the URL minus the "http://"

  23. @timethief

THX so much. You are very helpful.

  24. You're welcome. Please be patient while waiting for Staff to get to you. This thread has been marked for Staff attention but as the RSS errors are not all the same contacting Staff is required.

  25. Despite getting a message from WP support telling me that this was because I "have the feed set to show just a summary at Settings > Reading" (clearly didn't read my message to support carefully enough!) I'm happy to say this seems to be fixed now.
