I just signed up for a standard free wordpress site: / bought a premium theme from THEMETRUST (THEME IS CALLED “FILTER”) and am trying to upload the theme. I log into admin panel, go to “appearance”, click “themes” and all I see is “manage themes” not “upload themes”. What am I doing wrong? There seems to be some theme already loaded called Wu Wei. I “search themes” both standard and premium for the theme I purchased, no results found. Can you help me load my premium theme or do I need to upgrade my account in order to use a premium theme? Or is it somethng else I’m doing wrong? Please help. Thx

You should ask Theme Forest for a refund – you can’t upload a theme to your blog – the only themes you can use are the 180 or so you see in your dashboard – you have no FTP access to your blog – security reasons

There is no upgrade you can buy that lets you upload your own theme

seems lame, wordpress,, works on some not on others, really amateur hour.

The .COM and .ORG thing is definitely something that can cause confusion.

WordPress.COM is a multi-user platform which means we all share the same underlying theme and wordpress core files and because of that there are restrictions here for security reasons. Themes at wordpress.COM have to be modified to work within the restrictions here and to support the unique features. The theme you bought would not work here or not work well here, and there would be features here that you would lose since the theme you bought and downloaded does not support them.

If you want to use your theme, buy a domain name, hire a web host and install and configure the wordpress.ORG software on that web host. Figure an average monthly cost, all things considered, of $10 to $25 (not including the cost of your theme).
