Problems pointing domain to another website

    Hi everyone,

I’ll appreciate any help I can get.
I bought a domain on wordpress.com and I’m trying to point it to my online store. I edited the DNS records but both ‘versions’ of the domain are not pointing to the same place.

http://www.dearbiblepeople.com points to the desired location,
but dearbiblepeople.com (without the www) still points to my wordpress.com blog.

I tried editing the DNS records for both http://www.dearbiblepeople.com and dearbiblepeople.com (without the www) but only one works.

How do I fix this? I’m confused.
    Please help!

Please be aware that www is an old protocol from way back when the web was new and everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

    dearbiblepeople.com is hosted by Shopify
but the nameservers are pointed to wordpress.COM
    Hosting provider: Shopify
    WHOIS: Click Here
    IP Address: 23.227.38.32
    Name Servers:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

Hi @sheerahthebuilder, are you still having trouble? Your DNS records are correct. Your domain points to the same site with and without www for me.

If you’re still having trouble, try clearing your DNS cache on your computer.
