Problems pointing to godaddy host
I have a blog that was set up on wordpress.com with a custom domain of http://www.openakarateclub.com. I have decided that I want this to be hosted elsewhere and to use wordpress.org instead. I have purchased a godaddy hosting package and have updated the nameservers on wordpress to point at the godaddy nameservers. However when I enter my url into a browser I get a parked page from Automattic. I have contacted godaddy support as I thought the issue was at their end but they have told me that I need to get the domain pointed to my hosting plan ip address of 18.104.22.168.
I am not sure how to do this. I can see that there is a free text box for input on the custom DNS page but I am not sure of the format I should use to add this ip address. Please could somebody let me know how I point my wordpress.com registered domain at the ip address?
The blog I need help with is openakarateclub.com.
This should help http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/
Thanks for the quick reply. I have already read that article. I cannot transfer my domain as it is less than 60 days since I first registered it. I have already updated the nameservers but this has not allowed me to link to my godaddy hosting. Godaddy support says that I need to point the domain at the hosting ip address of 22.214.171.124 but I don’t know how to do this. Does anybody know how to point a domain at an ip address as the changing the nameservers has not worked?
Any help appreciated.
