I have been trying to use the Publicize options on the Sharing Settings page of the admin but the Facebook option isn’t working properly. The first time I clicked on it I was taken to the Facebook screen where you can click allow button. I clicked on allow then the screen went blank and nothing happened. I have checked on Facebook and the app is attached to my attached to my account. I have tried disconnecting and then reconnecting to Facebook from the wordpress end but all I get is an error message.
I have no idea why it’s not working. I have changed my app settings on Facebook and that hasn’t helped.
Anyone got any ideas how to proceed?

The blog I need help with is dundeehilltown.wordpress.com.

The blog linked to your wordpress.COM user name is empty. Please post the URL for the blog in question starting with http://

Please also read this sticky post at the head of the forum as I suspect you may be posting to the wrong support forum. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1

OOPS! I’m sorry. I was wrong. The blog linked to your username is not empty. it has pages but no posts. I take it you are trying to use Publicize. http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#facebook
I don’t use it myself so I can’t help with it. Hopefully, another Volunteer will be able to help you.

A few weeks ago, Facebook made some changes to the login procedure. Make sure you are connecting to Facebook as yourself (profile), not as your fan page.

Just a side note: according to the support doc, Publicize works for posts, not pages.

The issue of posts not getting auto- publish to Facebook profile/page is back since yesterday!

Even the Networkedblogs didn’t work but once re- set; now fine.. although the Fb issue persists!

I’ve been having issues with this as well. Auto-publish will work for a few days but then it will randomly break the connection and I will have to reauthorize the facebook connection. I am also using the WordPress iPhone app in conjunction with PC as well.

My posts were appearing on facebook fine ’til the day before yesterday. Glad to read that it’s a known issue and that it’s being worked on. Anyone any idea of how long these blips normally take to sort out?

From past experiences here with WP, it’s unfortunately very unpredictable. And when I went to WP support for help, the support person was very rude and not helpful at all.

I have been having this problem as well. It was working great for about 2-3 months. Now, in the last 2 weeks or so, it barely works. It is set to publicize, and even when I go to “sharing” on my WPCP, it’s there, and authorized, but doesn’t post. And when I submit a new post, that box on the right of the page will pop up saying I need to authorize it – even though it already is.
    crikey!

Have you tried using RSS Graffiti? Others have and it works well for them. RSS Graffiti is a Facebook tool that will keep your Facebook followers updated with your latest news from your RSS sources. It reads your feeds & writes to your walls. You can get any feed written on any wall (Facebook Profiles, Fan Pages, Groups, Events and Application Profile Pages). In fact, multiple feeds to multiple walls. You choose the combination. http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti

@timethief Yes, RSS Graffiti is very good, and I would also recommend that people use it.
