Put WordPress in root without index.php file

  1. I want to install WordPress in the root of a site that already has a CMS system installed. So I do not want to upload the index file. I need to be 100% sure that I do not interupt the existing CMS system. I only need the interior pages to show.
    My purpose in doing this is so that the WordPress pages will not be buried and will have a simple url such as:
    instead of
