Hello. This comment/question is for someone who works with WordPress.com and nota volunteer. I say this so a Volunteer can help others and move forward because I know they do not have a say.

I am really disappointed that WordPress.com “WP.COM” offers lousy advertising solutions.
Example: if you get a free wordpress blog such as: myblog.wordpress.com you can’t put ads on and get paid. However ,you can on blogger, live journal etc. I think its time that WP.COM allows users like their competition does to make a buck. You have the option for the user to not have ads on their “myblog.wordpress.com”
For a price of course.. Just Saying.
Now. If I get my own blog through WP.COM (not WP.ORG I know the difference) then I can only use the WordAds through WP.COM which pay horrible compared to if someone gets their own adsense account. You all say, “We Do To Leg Work” come on.. Its not that much “leg work”
Also, you recently started to use luminate and are putting ads on photos that are owned by Tv Networks ETC. And I know 2 users that had to reply to a CopyRight claim expressing they don’t have control on what ads and WP.COM picks them. It is what I heard.
You all allow VIP wp.com to use put ads because you know they would not sign up with you then.
I think you all need to be more flexible or pay more. I saw what WP.COM and .WP.ORG made last year. You all like to brag that big companies use you but forget about the little guys like us. My traffic slowed down since I took a break from blogging and I still make 5 times more than what I did using WP.COM and that is just with my own AdSense. But I miss WP.COM
I know and understand that WP.COM has to make money, however, you are making money and probably could make more IF you became more flexible with former little guys like myself. So many of us would love to come back BUT that would mean lose half of our income. That’s per website.
Also, I wish you all could do something about the usernames, allow numbers or something. NOT many names available.

I don’t see any WordPress.com blogs (much less WordAds blogs) under your account, so I’d love to see your evidence on that.

I’m one of the people who negotiates deals with the advertising networks for our entire inventory of well over 50 million blogs, which without a doubt gets us better rates than 1 man negotiating an advertising deal for 1 blog.

There is plenty of leg work involved. If you don’t do the research, phone/video conference with the right people, and sometimes travel to meet those people in person, you don’t get the best rates, and that’s what we mean by “we do the leg work for you.”

Also, you recently started to use luminate and are putting ads on photos that are owned by Tv Networks ETC. And I know 2 users that had to reply to a CopyRight claim expressing they don’t have control on what ads and WP.COM picks them. It is what I heard.

We did indeed start testing Luminate ads with a small set of WordAds bloggers, and we made an announcement to these bloggers with instructions on how to contact us to disable them if desired.

You all allow VIP wp.com to use put ads because you know they would not sign up with you then.

WordPress.com VIP is essentially a self-hosted WordPress.org installation on steroids with professional help. They can do whatever a self-hosted WordPress.org blog can and more, that’s why they can place their own ads.

I think you all need to be more flexible or pay more. I saw what WP.COM and .WP.ORG made last year.

    WordPress.org is a non-profit organization completely unrelated to WordPress.com.

My traffic slowed down since I took a break from blogging and I still make 5 times more than what I did using WP.COM and that is just with my own AdSense . . . So many of us would love to come back BUT that would mean lose half of our income.

Again, I don’t see any WordPress.com blogs (much less WordAds blogs) under your account, so I’d love to see your evidence on that.
