Random overlapping dates in header?
Artsonia posted the following several months ago and the topic was closed without any responses:
The date shown on my Spectrum front page is messed up. It looks like it has September 24 and September 25 written on top of one another. I don’t know where this date information is fed from –thus, i can’t edit it. But, I also wonder why it’s showing TWO on top of one another! Please assist…as my blog just went public for first time today.
The blog I need help with is artsonia.wordpress.com.
I’m having the same problem with my site (except the date is different).
It’s a private site, so please forgive the password protection. Artsonia’s site will provide a good example if anyone care’s to view the problem.
I’m new to this, so I appreciate any/all guidance.
The blog I need help with is zychfamily.wordpress.com.
Thanks for the clear description and link in the OP to the older thread. I have tagged this thread for the attention of Themes Staff and it will be moved to the Themes Forum. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.
The problem seems to be related to the Recent Posts widget. If I select “Display Post Date” the strange date representation appears in the header and appears to be the collection of dates associated with the posts in the Recent Posts list. (The dates don’t show adjacent to the post titles in the Recent Posts list.)
Wow! Thanks for your quick response, Timethief. I appreciate your attention to and interest in my problem.
Aha! This sounds like it’s may not be theme related at all but instead you have detected it’s recent Posts widget issue. I removed the tag for the move to Themes Forum but left the tag up for Staff assistance.
thank you for bringing it to our attention, and thank you timethief for letting us know about it!
I just deployed a change that took care of the issue. Sorry for the trouble!
Whoops, follow up since I answered on an out of date version of the thread:
It kind of was also a theme issue, since it didn’t deal with the post date appropriately. The checkbox to add the date was introduced in 3.5 and the theme has been around longer than that ;)
Seriously?! The responsiveness of both of you, not only in answering my post but actually resolving the issue has amazed me! And from an organization/community that is offering such a remarkable, free (!!!) service to me. I’m drinking the KoolAid!
You made me LOL :D
It’s always great to hear positive feedback as it’s pleasant contrast to those who throw fits, sabre rattle, insult Volunteers and launch passive aggressive personal attacks while posturing like victims. Worse sill are the politically correct, the EMO special snowflakes and then there are those who play the age card. I assume you have our backs, right? ;)
P.S. Name calling – who me? Nah … that happens only in my private blog, of course. LOL :D
