Receiving Two Email Notifications for every one comment
I just got onto the computer a few minutes ago and as my habit, I check my email account and most often I have a few notifications for comments on my blog. Today, I have four emails from WordPress, two for each comment I received this morning and they are sent at the same time. I will try to explain this as best I can…
One email notification is the standard plain text, which I believe is how I have it set up. The “sender” is the commenter’s name. The subject is this format-
[The Birding Bunch] Comment: “We Enjoyed You, Little Family”
The second email for the same comment is in the HTML format, “sender” is my blog title, The Birding Bunch, and subject is- [New comment] We Enjoyed You, Little Family.
I found one post on the forum about this issue, but they have a .org blog. They were receiving email notifications when their settings were turn off, as they want them to be. I am not sure if a solution would be dealt with in the same manner, so I am starting a new topic.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but based on the big to-do with the comment notification emails earlier this year, I wonder if this is a new “feature” that blog authors receive email notifications whether they desire them or not. I am happy to be notified of comments, but do not need two.
The blog I need help with is thebirdingbunch.com.
Whatever it was, it seemed to resolve itself. The comments I received later had only one notification per.
After posting this, I did see others were having issues not receiving notifications. Maybe this was some how related. Or maybe not.
But it’s fine now. :)
