Recovering lost post

  1. Recovering lost posts
When I logged into my wordpress account recently, I noticed that one of my posts that I uploaded in January had disappeared from my post feed.

I checked my Posts in my Dashboard and I noticed that I had a new "draft" that was untitled. I looked at the draft and it turned out to be my missing blog post, however 80% of the text and all of the photographs from this post were gone.

At first I thought I was going crazy, however I noticed that there were four user comments attached to the draft, which indicated that people had read my post when it was online.

I am certain I did not touch this post. And even if I did, there is no way that I deleted the title and most of the material.

Since discovering this first disappearing post, I have noticed that this has happened to ANOTHER one of my posts. This is quite upsetting as I (as all of us bloggers) put a lot of effort into my posts and it is frightening to think they can just disappear for no reason.

I have not backed my posts up anywhere else (although I might start doing this now).

    My question:

The blog I need help with is

  2. You may be able to recover a post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post.

If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder then you will not be able to recover it.

Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or did you create your post on the front page of!/post/

Create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or use an offline blog editor so you always have backups on your own computer
