Redirect the blog that becomes self-hosted
I currently have a WordPress.com blog under http://wanderme.wordpress.com
I recently purchases a domain and got hosting out of wordpress.com
I was wondering whether I can move the same blog to the self-hosted domain — I believe the answer is yes after checking the Support Pages and I can ask Happiness Engineers to do this under a “Guided transfer”.
However, another thing I need is for my current wanderme.wordpress.com to also redirect to the new domain in the new host. Meaning to say, if visitors are looking for my historical sites and they enter my old wanderme.wordpress.com/post1 address, it can be redirected to my new domain in my new host. How can I do this? I have already built up an audience under my old wanderme.wordpress.com addresses and many of my links with other bloggers are thru this address so it’s important for me to be able to redirect to my new domain in my new host.
The blog I need help with is wanderme.wordpress.com.
Sorry, I meant that I recently purchased a domain and got hosting out of wordpress.org
If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.
