Regaining a URL

    I created and deleted a site ( because I was having some problems with it. Now I have a new version ( running and full of content, and would like to regain control of the previous URL. However, although I had chosen to "delete it permanently" the first time, when I try to change my current URL I get the "That site currently exists" message.

    How can I regain my previous URL?

  2. You cannot. As the multiple warnings said "delete it permanently" means permanently, and nobody can ever use the same URL again.

    You will have to stick with your new name, choose another which is available, or use the domain mapping upgrade to buy and use a custom domain (a name without ".wordpress" in it).

    Oh, I thought the "delete it permanently" option meant that the URL was going to be emptied, not that it wasn't going to be available ever again.
