Registering a .org domain to my current blog

I am now really confused on how to add this domain to my current .com site. I registered with Dream Hosting 30 minutes ago, but them realized I might be able to do all this within WordPress. I cancelled my hosting with Dream Hosting, but Word Press still shows that the .org domain is already registered. How do I get past this hurdle?
