Remove domain mapping pointer?
-
Hi there. I’d like to retain my blog at http://fashcon.wordpress.com but remove whatever pointer still thinks it’s mapped from http://fashcon.com. I cancelled the domain mapping renewal service today, but when I go to the former I get:
Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
I expected http://fashcon.wordpress.com to remain working. Could you make it so?
Thanks! Honey
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrades, you ought to be able to request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received. To disable autorenew, provided you are logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrades go to > Store > My Upgrades and click the “disable auto-renew” link.

Hi timethief. Yes I went through this procedure just now and cancelled the upgrade on domain mapping. What I then expected to happen was that http://fashcon.wordpress.com/ would continue to work, just that it would be decoupled from http://fashcon.com/
What’s actually happened is that requests to http://fashcon.wordpress.com/ result in:
Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
I just want http://fashcon.wordpress.com/ to stay working without the redirect from my domain. What else do I have to do?

I have a similar problem. I also wish to retain my wordpress blog (http://klandorsrealm.wordpress.com) but cancel the mapping to my GoDaddy registered domain (klandorsrealm.com). The paid domain is still bouncing back to my wordpress site.

http://fashcon.wordpress.com/ – loads fine for me – you probably have a local caching issue – try clearing your browser cache and forcing a page reload
