    Hi,

    I really love the balloons theme, but want to remove the balloons. I figured out how to remove them (thanks to a tip in another thread) but was left with an empty space which I don’t want – how can I get rid of it?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    The blog I need help with is testhighrotation.wordpress.com.

    Hi, the tip removed the balloons, but not the space the balloons occupied – can you help me remove the empty space? I don’t want a big empty space under the header.

    Thanks!

    No I cannot help you. There is Staff support for the CSS upgrade and all support Staff must have CSS editing skills. Usually we see designsimply providing it but we haven’t seen her for over a week on this forum. There’s one Volunteer thesacredpath who provides his service free of charge when he has the time to be away from his clients and post here to help. He’s not available at present. Aside from those two now and then another member passes through who helps with CSS editing.

    Ok, thanks for your help anyway. I’ll wait around for one of the other members you mentioned. Cheers,

    I’m sorry I can’t help but I don’t have CSS editing skills. Hang in there. :)

    Which blog are your referring to? What is the URL of the blog your purschased a custom design upgrade from WordPress.com for?

    @highrotation
    The custom design upgrade comes with Staff support. In part that’s what you paid for and all support Staff are required to have CSS editing skills. I’ll flag this thread for Staff attention so they deliver the support you need.

    HighRotation,
    I may be able to help you, but I can’t see your blog – you’ll have to set it to public, or otherwise wait for Staff help.

    Try this:

    #balloons-01,
    #balloons-02,
    #balloons-03,
    #balloons-04,
    #balloons-05,
    #balloons-06,
    #balloons-07 {
    	display: none;
    }
    #masthead {
    	margin: 0;
    }

    One more thing. To hide the extra gap for semi-small screen sizes, add this too:

    @media screen and (max-width: 800px) {
    	body {
    		background: #eee;
    	}
    	header#masthead {
    		margin: 0;
    	}
    }

    so you can only remove the balloons if you purchase the upgrade? lame…

    #978423

    It’s part of the theme design, and if you want to customize a design more than the theme options provide for, then you do in fact need the upgrade. The basic hosting is free with no monthly charges though. Cheers :)
