    Currently, my blog uses Twenty twelve, but I want to shift to Adele. I love the unshaded sidebar in my current blog, and want that same effect in Adele. Is there a way to remove that shading in Adele?

    Thanks,

    Nishita

    The blog I need help with is nishitak.com.

    I think this will do what you want.

    .site-main .widget-area {
        background: none;
    }

    Thanks so much for this. It worked.

    Also, is there a way to get rid of that zig-zag line in the sidebar that comes between each widget and also increase the sidebar width?

    Do I need to create another post thread for this?

    I almost included the code to get rid of “ziggy” but then didn’t. If seems you found that solution.

    Do you want to keep the content area and/or the overall width of the main container area the same when you widen the sidebar?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response. I still do need the code to remove the zig-zag lines. I am working on the theme in snapshot mode and haven’t published it yet.

    Is it possible to retain the overall width of the main container and increase just the side bar space?

    Ah, the site linked to in your original post is wearing a different theme which is why I didn’t see them. Add this to get rid of ziggies.

    .widget {
    background: none;
    }

    Thanks so much. It worked like a charm now :) and any way to extend the sidebar space alone a little to the right?

    #1278791

    Do you mean to move it a little to the right, or do you mean widen it a little?

    widen it a little

    You can bump it up 3% (to what I have shown) without having to adjusting the width of the parent elements, or decreasing the main content area. Add this to get the extra 3% and see what you think.

    .site-main .widget-area {
    width: 32.4118%;
    }
