Removing a static image that is no longer in my 'Media' list
Here’s how to permanently delete it from Trash >
Thanks @timethief. the item is not in my trash either.
I see it being served from
is there another way to get in there with a pro account or some thing to remove it?

What Trash? There’s no Trash folder for images.
Where are you seeing the image? What’s its real URL?
Could you clarify for me, are you saying you can still see an image that you have deleted? If so, could you provide me the full URL where you are seeing the image? If you don’t want to share the URL publicly you could add it to a draft or private post that you can leave me a link to and I’ll be able to see it.
Thank you catrymer
I have created a private post with title ‘for catrymer’
Thank you for the links. It looks like you deleted the thumbnail for these images, but not the images themselves. You should be able to delete them permanently from your media library.
For example, if you go to https://tonytam.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?paged=3 you will see two of the deleted images showing in the list about halfway down. If you hover over one of them you will see an option to “delete permanently”.
Let me know if clicking this link still does not result in the removal of the images.
Thank you. Originally, I resized the photo to 2×2 pixel, basically hiding it. but I have just tried ‘delete permanently’ and see if that does it
I recently learned that when you delete an image permanently it removes it from your media library but not from our servers. However, we can help you remove an image completely so I have now removed the images at the URLs you provided.
Please let me know if you are still seeing these images anywhere.
Thanks for trying, but all 3 images are still viewable
When I go to any of the three links you included in your post I see a file not found page. If you are still seeing the images at those exact links, could you try clearing your cache and cookies and refreshing your browser:
If you are still able to access the images at a different URL, could you update the post to tell me where you are seeing it.
You are correct. The 3 images are all gone now.
Great! I’m glad we got those deleted for you. Let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.
