Removing featured images and replacing with images in blog post with block editing

  • Hello, I am using Baskerville 2 for my blog and I have learned it is better to insert images into my posts using block editing as I am able to include captions with my art. I have several posts already with featured images and when I go into the newer editor I am attempting to remove the featured image and then add a block image. No matter how many times I go through this process I still wind up with both images. In future posts I won’t make the mistake of using a featured image, but is there any way to remove the featured image once you have gone that route? In the newer editor it appears to be removed but when the post is updated it is there. Thank you!

  • Hi,

The Baskerville 2 theme can be set to display featured images on posts and pages even though none are set on them. Try this: At Customize > Content Options > Featured Images, uncheck the box labeled “Automatically use first image in post” (if it’s presently checked), and then save the edit by clicking the Publish button.
