I wish to take off the header on my home page only. it used to work before with this –
    .home #header {display: none;}

    now it does not….

can someone tell me how to fix it?

The blog I need help with is

The CSS you mentioned is correct for the Wu Wei theme. I checked and it’s working properly right now.

    it doesnt work for me

    it only works in preview.

FIrst, you can make sure you are viewing the most recent version of a page by refreshing the page or even clearing the browser cache if needed:

Next, let’s make sure we’re talking about the same thing by looking at a specific example.

    I’m comparing these two links:

On the about page, I see header text that says “kate goff photomedia artist & graphic designer”. On the home page, I don’t see that. Is that the “header” you meant, or were you maybe referring to something else?

yes thats right, on the home page it shouldnt have the header ‘kate goff photomedia artist & graphic designer’, on the other pages it should (and does). I cleared cookies and cache, and it still shows the same thing. im using chrome and have tried it in firefox and safari too and still the same thing.

How strange. I see it working. When I check here’s what I see:

If anyone else in the forums has a second to check, please post a reply here. I’ll also see if I can get a few people I work with to check it too.

I’m seeing the homepage as expected (in Safari, Firefox, Opera, on a Mac).

    you mean with the header?

Of course not: when you’ve written display none, then expected = without header.

I had a quick look, and the header text is correctly hidden on the home page. Here is what I can see on my end:

Here is what I see on your About page:

@k8goff, your CSS is working as expected as far as I can tell. If you’re still having trouble, maybe you could provide a screenshot for us so we can see what you’re seeing.

Since it’s working properly for everyone I have checked with so far, perhaps the issue is local to your network. To test that theory, you could try checking the site from a different network location if you have access to one or ask a friend in another location to check it for you.
