Removing Page Links from my Header in Elegant Grunge?

In many WP themes, Page links are prominently displayed across the top of the blog. On Elegant Grunge, they are above the header. I can’t seem to find a way (short of paying for Customization) to remove them. They are not needed up top, as I can easily put them in the sidebar.

Is there a way to remove Page links from themes? About half of the themes on WP are ruled out for me, because of their awkward handling of this issue.

The blog I need help with is katemckinnon.wordpress.com.

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

If you do purchase the upgrade be sure to read this article before starting your editing > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/

Since elegant grunge supports custom menus, go to appearance > menu, create and save a blank custom menu and the in the theme location module at upper left, select that blank custom menu from the primary location pulldown and then click save.

You might have to force refresh your blog page to see that the menu is gone.

Thank you, sacred path. I will try that.

Thanks, timethief- I am aware of the upgrade option but am already paying for no ads, more storage, etc. and don’t really want to add another charge to the mix.
