Removing the 3rd Column on the right side

    I really need help, I am using the theme Oxygen and really want to get rid of the far right 3rd column where it has the search engine, blog roll, and meta.

    I want my pictures to be bigger than 470px, at least 600-700px – this is why.

    Someone please help, I am SUPRE NEW at using CSS.

    Note: I’ve upgraded for customizing also.

    The blog I need help with is

    This might be a little tricky since the image width is set in the HTML. Add the following and in the CSS settings box, set the max width to 750 and then put up a test post with a featured image that is 750px in width to see how things come out on the main page. The problem is, it might be that it won’t work right. Do that and then post back here so with what happened and if it doesn’t work, leave the changes up and I’ll take another look. There are some other changes that will need to be made to clean things up.

    .page-template-showcase-php #tertiary {
    display: none;
    .page-template-showcase-php #content {
    margin-left: 0;

    On other thing is that I notice an “advertise” tab in your top menu. User advertising is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under “Affiliate marketing blogs” in the bottom set of bullet points in the “types of blogs” link below.

    There is a new WordAd program here at for sites that qualify. It does not allow you to pick or place your own ads though.

    On the main page the right side is gone, but if you click on one of the blog posts the right side appears again and my images are still 470px.

    Okay so I was thinking, is it possible to leave the 3rd column on the main page but then not have the third page on the posts? Does that make sense?

    I’ve done what you said and left the edit.

    Sorry, I messed up on one of the declarations, and I targeted only the showcase page. Replace what I gave above to this:

    #tertiary {
    display: none;
    #content {
    margin-left: 0;

    If you go look at my my post, the post is now overlapping the left column. Help?

    I see no images on single post pages.

    The first code I gave gets rid of the right sidebar on the main page only.

    The second bit of code I gave gets rid of it everywhere.

    The code you have in your custom CSS gets rid of the right sidebar on the single post pages ONLY.

    Nvm, I actually fixed it. I like how it is now. Thank you so much!

    Do you have the code where I can wrap words along side of an image? For example, The image is on the left and then the word is on its right.

    When you insert the image into the post, select left alignment. The alignments are as follows:

    None: image left aligned but no text wrap
    Left: image left aligned with text wrap
    Center: image centered with no text wrap
    Right: image right aligned with text wrap

    I see, how about a contact me code?

    For example, if you check this out parkandcube has the “get in touch”, is there a possible way to do this?

    I’d like to help change the width of the slider, the sidebar and post.

    I wanted to change the widths:

    470 to 560 px (The main column width)
    750 to 790 px (Featured content slider)
    160 to 120 px (Primary sidebar)
    250 to 200 px (Secondary sidebar)

    How should I do?
