    Hello, I’m a super newbie. I need help with <a href=”Blog at WordPress.com. Theme: Customized Chunk by Automattic.
    Blog at WordPress.com. Theme: Customized Chunk by Automattic.
    http://squingandoup.wordpress.com“>http://squingandoup.wordpress.com

    I would like to remove the text “Blog at WordPress.com. Theme: Customized Chunk by Automattic” and add my own copyright line. If for some reason I cannot remove this, I’d at least like to add some text above it, or match my green web color I selected.

    The blog I need help with is squingandoup.wordpress.com.

    Please read this entire section http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at !WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
    All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade.

    I don’t help with CSS editing. Those who do can help you add a copyright notice by using position absolute after you place your copyright notice in a text widget.

    To add text above the footer credit line in the Chunk theme, add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor:

    #footer:before {
    	display: block;
    	content: "Copyright 2012 SQUING&OUP.";
    	line-height: 1.5em;
    }

    Replace the content value with the text you’d like to use.

    Hi, I have the same problem using the Structure theme. The footer currently shows my blog name but I need to edit it to my copyright. I added a text widget in the footer box but I’d like it in the actual base footer. Can I use the same CSS code for Structure? Thanks!

    The WordPress.com Structure theme happens to list the stie title and tagline first in the footer, so one option would be to make the tagline the copyright statement.

    Or if you wanted to add a little text using CSS like the example above, you could add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor instead:

    .footerbottom p:before {
    	content: "Copyright XYZ. ";
    }
