RSS Feeds

  1. I don't know a lot about RSS Feeds. What I'm trying to do is put a RSS feed icon on my blog so that people can click on it and add my site to their feeds. Do I have the right idea, and how do I do this? Also, I understand that I have an RSS feed - this is XML (at the top of the feed it says "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." - is that how it's supposed to be?

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is

  2. The "no style" info is what you get when you try to read an RSS feed with Chrome. Chrome cannot read a feed. Google, who makes Chrome, wants you to use Google Feed Reader to do this.

  3. I'm in the same boat; how and where do I add this feature to my blog?

  4. Chrome does not have a builtin in feed reader. See here > RSS Subscription Extension (by Google) for Chrome

  5. I don't care about the Chrome extension, I would like the icon to appear on my blog; how do I get it there?

  6. If your theme does not provide an RSS icon not to worry. It's an image and there are many free RSS icons on the interent. You capture an image of one and place it in an image widget or a text widget and link it to your feed for posts and/or comments.
This is your feed URL for Posts >
This is your feed URL for comments >
If you prefer you can place this widget in your sidebar > RSS widget >
Another alternative is to place the Meta widget in your sidebar.

  7. Thanks for these solutions, they are helpful. But, when even I go through Internet Explorer, when if I go to I get an error saying that the page is broken HTTP 404 - File not found. Can you help with this?

  8. Sorry just reread my comment - when I go to

  9. Works fine for me using Firefox.

  10. Author Central on Kindle asks for an RSS URL for my blog, I have no idea what that is or where I find it. Can anyone help me?

  11. Thank you! That is very helpful. I am sooooooo frustrated by all of this. Have no idea what I am doing and it is taking so much time. Any helpful information that I get is greatly appreciated.
