I have seen these buttons in the widgets of quite a few blogs recently & am wondering how to add them? I am guessing that they have been done in a text widget, but where do I get the buttons?

The blog I need help with is shareslife.wordpress.com.

We need a link to your blog please.

Is this the blog you are talking about http://shareslife.wordpress.com/ ? If so, these two links should get you where you need to be. On the RSS feed, do not copy and paste the code from the FAQ as it will bring in some stuff that will keep things from working for you. Type the code directly into the text widget, or do it in the post editor and then switch to the HTML tab and copy the code out and paste it into the text widget.

I am also trying to add the rss feed widget. I followed the directions, but when I hit “save” it changes what I had just typed in and the widget on my front page shows up empty. What am I doing wrong? (I did not copy – I typed it out)

If it deletes or changes the code, then the code you are using has an error. Did you copy and past it from the support document? If so, that will bring in some characters that will break things. Paste the RSS code you are using here between backticks ( ` ) which is the key to the left of the #1 with the ~ on it.

I didn’t copy and paste from the directions to the text box.

ok, I played with the / and it works now. Thanks!

OK, you did not have the space between the last quotemark after .png” and the / .

This works: <a href="http://www.redrecliner.wordpress.com/feed"><img src="http://faq.files.wordpress.com/2006/11/a28.png" /></a> Subscribe to my feed

I added “subscribe to my feed” after the image link for clarity, but you can change or delete it if you want.
