safari crash

  1. Hello,

I use Safari on my three Macs and since last Friday, I can't open my WP Dashboard without Safari crashing (on all 3 computers, two from home and one from work). Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks.

  3. I know that I can use Firefox (but I prefer Safari and have been doing so successfully until last Friday). But this still does not answer my question.

Actually it does answer your question. Unless you change to firefox or to camino you will continue to experience these problems sporadically. This is because Safari has known issues with the kind of AJAX javascript used here at and elsewhere on the internet.

Typing "safari" into the FAQs search box produced the thread above.

  5. I think lulu is saying tha this is a new issue.

I think tt is saying that since safari doesn't big on javascript, you may want to try a different browser.

which safari are you using and are you egtting a specific error message?

Does anyone know what is going on?

I clearly understand you are saying about safari "it worked before but isn't working now". In fact I note that this has also been the case with other safari users at other points in time too. That means the issue may be news to you but it sure isn't news to us.

In the final analysis after the other bloggers made multiple postings to the forum most just downloaded another browser and got on with their blogging so, I thought you might gain by knowing that up front as opposed to wasting your time.

    Barry says:

We are aware of the issue with older versions of Safari shipped with 10.3. Is is possible to upgrade Safari in your case? The newer versions of Safari seem to work without any problems. Alternatively, I would recommend using a different browser (Camino or Firefox) until the issue is resolved.

  7. hello, lulu

you'd better send a bugreport (including a crash-dump) to Apple Safari dev. team ASAP; if you can reproduce a crash that means all your 3 boxes may become vulnerable soon.

  8. Bingo:

Someone care to submit this via feedback and see if staff would be willing to upgrade?

  9. drmike - thanks. I've passed that on and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can.

  10. I saw the mention in trac that jquery got updated recently so I had a feeling something was up.

  11. Yeah, looks like it got fixed in 1.1.4 or will be fixed as it's not out yet.

Looks like we may have currently.

  12. Spot on.

It should be fixed now - feedbacks if anything new happens though.

  13. I have no idea what you did but it works again, thanks a lot!
