    I’ve searched the forum and so far only bad news: is it realy no possibility of inserting scripts in the sidebar?
    I want to insert a script provided by a traffic counting portal, but other pieces of code would be very useful in customizing a blog. For instance blogspot.com allows all sorts of code to be inserted, including AdSense ads.
    This is the kind of code that gets truncated when inserted in a text widget. (I’m not sure it will be displayed correctly in this post also)

    <script type=”text/javascript”>t_rid=”user”;</script>
    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://storage.trafic.ro/js/trafic.js”
    ></script>
    <noscript>
    <a href=”http://www.trafic.ro/top/?rid=user”
    target=”_blank”><img border=”0″ alt=”trafic ranking”
    src=”http://log.trafic.ro/cgi-bin/pl.dll?rid=user”/>
    </noscript>

    Javascript does not work. Only regular HTML does.

    Yep, sorry but basic HTML is all that we’re allowed here. Various reasons have been given, mainly that it is to protect security (so we don’t all get hacked) and to stop user-originated code breaking anything that would then effect everyone else.

    If you want to be able to use more advanced code (so that you can have Adsense ads for example) then you need to be self-hosted and using the WordPress.org software.
