search box in header

    I was just curious, is it possible with css to add the search box in the header section of the blog, I see it done on other blogs, but I think that comes with certain wordpress themes.
    Just in case this sounds weird and not making sense, then check out the header on my blog, and you will see no search box, but I want a search box up there.

    It might be, but I’m not sure. There is a way to put text up there, by using a text widget to define the div. Not sure if it would work for the search widget.

    (BTW – you site looks like SoapBlox. Good adaptation. But you need to fix your header image – it’s not wide enough to cover the image behind it.)

    Cool, I just got finished looking up SoapBlox and my blog does look a little similar to SoapBlox.
    Im also in the works on figuring out how to fix the header, it fills my whole screen but when I zoom out the header doesn’t fit the whole page.

    I guess I’ll can keep experimenting to figure out how to get the search box on the header.

    Looks a lot similar. (I’ve seen lots of SoapBlox adaptations.)

    That theme is a flexible width theme, which is probably why you’re having trouble with the header.

    For starters on the search box thing, have a look at this thread The discussion is about how to add a tagline where none exists in theme but it gives you a sense of what I was talking about on moving the search using the div

    Absolute positioning should do the trick, add this to #searchform:

    Change the position values to your liking.

    thanks arschflugkoerper it worked

    If you want to put a box of google search on your blog copy the code below and paste into your page

    <style type=”text/css”>
    @ import url (;
    </ style>
    <div style=”background-color:#000000;color:#FFFFFF” class=”cse-branding-bottom”>
    <div class=”cse-branding-form”>
    <form id=”cse-search-box” action=”” target=”_blank”>
    <input value=”partner-pub-5622451169436043:yahr8ulv5ha” name=”cx” type=”hidden”/>
    <input value=”ISO-8859-1″ name=”ie” type=”hidden”/>
    <input name=”q” size=”31″ type=”text”/>
    <input value=”Pesquisar” name=”sa” type=”submit”/>
    </ div>
    </ form>
    </ div>
    <div class=”cse-branding-logo”>
    <img alt=”Google” src=””/>
    </ div>
    <div class=”cse-branding-text”>
    Personalized Search
    </ div>
    </ div>

    so.. can i have a search box? This is so confusing to me. I would like one but its not very clear if its available to the average user and where do I go to figure this out? thanks!

    Sorry, but that trick does not work, not on

    And the reason it won’t work is because forms are not allowed here.
