Search Widget Disappeared
I just noticed that my search widget is gone. It is designed by CSS to display at the top of the page on the right side, directly across from my blog’s title and description.
After WordPress updated the widget page a few weeks ago, I had to rework my CSS for the search field and button because WP had added a number to the class (“search” had become “search2”). This was apparently a result of them adding a way to save previously used widgets for later use. I don’t know if this is related to the current issue or not, but thought it might be worth mentioning.
The blog I need help with is inrepair.net.
I just looked under my widgets page and search had been mysteriously removed from my sidebar. I didn’t do it, so not sure what happened.
I see the search widget at the top of your left sidebar.
Yeah, same thing happened to me. The first time it changed I updated the CSS for the search widget and then when it changed again it actually disappeared from the page and on the my widgets page. Apparently they were tweaking with the words it seems. The first change was using the word “search” instead of “find” then the second change just did the opposite. Don’t know what that was about. I haven’t even bothered to reposition the “find” button. I use sandbox-10 theme too, so maybe its only a sandbox issue.
Mine is gone as well, has been for about 24 hours, and I’m using Sandbox as well.
Mine is gone for several days now and I couldn’t bring it back!!
My search widget id still there (Sandbox-10 as well) but I have noticed other tinkering recently, especially with the editor. Unless I missed it, there was no indication that these changes were taking place, and some of them seem to have been backed out.
